This Culver City house was badly in need of a front and backyard with function and aesthetics. The clients need for a kid friendly, vegetable accommodating yard helped to guide the design.
Fruit bearing trees such as Pineapple Guava, Fig, and Tangerine were used in addition to a large raised vegetable bed. The rear synthetic lawn, perfect for playing on conceals a large subterranean gravel pit, allowing for percolation of water from the rear yard down spouts. A new deck and overhead structure in the back is functional for both dining and entertaining.
